Doeloe & Sekarang

Doeloe...
Orangtua kita hidup tanpa banyak alat bantu, tapi tenang menjalani hidupnya. Sementara kita yang dilengkapi dengan pampers, mesin cuci, kompor gas, HP, kendaraan, TV, email, FB, Twitter, ipad, ruangan ber AC, dll... harusnya mempermudah hidup ini, tapi ternyata tidak, sampai-sampai tidak sempat kita menikmati hidup karena semuanya dilakukan terburu-buru;
...berangkat kerja, TERBURU-BURU...
...pulang kerja, juga TERBURU-BURU...
...makan siang, TERBURU-BURU...
...dilampu merah, TERBURU-BURU...
...berdo'a pun, TERBURU-BURU...
...bahkan sholatpun, TERBURU-BURU...
Allahul musta'an..

Sampai dimanakah hidup kita pada hari ini?

The Sword of Allah

Khalid ibn al-Walid, after over than hundreds of battles, year after year, month after month, battle after battle. It came time; the drawn sword of Allah was to leave this world.

For the last 4 years of his life, he was demoted; he couldn't go into the battlefield, and Khalid dubbed that year as "the year of the women". He was pissed off he couldn't go and fight into the battlefield again. But Khalid Ibn Walid didn't waste his time, he would recite the Quran, men like Khalid Ibn Walid. After every fajar he will recite Quran until dhuhur, and he would say that he was so busy going into jihad, that jihad has stopped him from learning the Quran. Now he made up for it, men like Khalid Ibn Walid. From fajr till dhuhr he would continuously recite the Quran and cry out of fear of Allah.

To tell you the extent of his battles and how busy he was, once he was praying and he forgot some of the ayat, or made mistake on some of the ayats, so the companions helped him out. And when he finished, he said; "by Allah, the only thing that made me busy, and kept me from memorizing Quran was fighting for the sake of Allah".

When Khalid was close to his death, SubhanAllah, can you imagine my friend, a man who has never lost a battles and duels in his life, more than hundreds of battle, is dying upon his bed. The narration mention when people would walk in, he would show them his arms, his legs, his chest, that there was not a handspan on his body which did not have a wound upon it. And he would started to crying and said "look at me, look at my body, you will not find one inch, one finger except that there are scars, and marks of war, and here I'm dying the same way as Camels dies? I've spent my life in battlefield, every single battle I threw myself in the ranks of the enemies until I would be certain than I would not come out alive, and yet here I am dying on my bed like a coward?". He was hurt and pissed off knowing he's not going to die as a Shahid on the battlefield. RadhiAllahu'anhu.

But one of the visitor explained to him a wisdom, "dear Khalid, don't you understand? The day that Prophet Muhammad Shallallahu Alaihi Wasallam dubbed you as Sayfullah Al-Maslul (The Drawn Sword of Allah). That it was impossible, for you to die in the battlefield, for if you die in the battlefield, it would've meant that the sword of Allah was broken by an infidel. But the Sword of Allah, could never be broken!" As Khalid contrary to his desires dying upon his bed.

But see my friend, on the Battle of Mut'ah, Khalid broke nine swords. NINE sword. But why they broke? Because they were the swords of Khalid. As Khalid himself, he was the sword of Allah, he could never be broken. The man, who brought the two major superpower of his time, Persian and Roman Byzantium Empire, down to their knees, passed away upon his bed. Not broken, but retire. RadhiAllahu'anhu.

His jenazah, according to many fuqaha, is not prayed upon the shahid. His clothes, his blood, may not bare testimony to his shahadah. But by Allah, every single shahid of this ummah will bare testimony to Khalid Ibn Walid, because there has never been a shahid in this ummah, who has not been inspired by Khalid Ibn Walid.

Narration mention that he left behind a horse and a sword, and sent it to Umar Ibn Khattab, and when Umar saw it, he began to cry, realising that Khalid has passed away.

But can you imagine my friend, that horse and sword Khalid has left behind, could any other man ride the horse as the way Khalid rode? Could any other man hold the sword as the way Khalid held? No one will can, because he would never be able to fulfill its rights. Because Khalid, this man -may Allah pleased with him- was on a different level.

The narration mention that when Khalid passed away, the women of Bani Makhzum came out and cried, and the Khalifah Umar Ibn Khattab has a strict rule that women could not come out and cry. Even when Abu Bakr passed away the women only gathered in the house of Aisyah and when they were crying Umar dispersed them. But when it came to Khalid Ibn Walid, a man came to Umar and said "ya Umar, women of Bani Makhzum are out and crying over Khalid!". But Umar said "for the likes of Khalid, those who cry, should cry". Yes my friend. Those who cry, should cry.

And then Umar heard the mother of Khalid reciting a poetry for his son: "You are better than a million when men fall infront of you on their faces, and you are braver than a Lion and as for your generousity - you are more generous than that stream which comes down from a mountain." And Umar (radiallahu anhu) said, "The mother of Khalid Ibn Walid has spoken the truth."

But if Khalid was better than a million that time, then he is better than a BILLION of today. And the truth is, that there will never be another Khalid Ibn Walid. Ever! By Allah, this man, he was Frederick The Great, Genghis Khan, Napoleon, Temur, all of them in one! He was more, all of them and more in one. As Abu Bakr said when he bore testimony to Khalid Ibn Walid, "women will never give birth to the likes of Khalid Ibn Walid again". There will never be another man like Khalid Ibn Walid. RadhiAllahu Anhu.

Lying on his bed in Homs, a town in Syria, he said his last message, warning the disbelievers around the world, from his time to the last day, "may the eyes of cowards never sleep".

Never, will the eyes of the cowards sleep.

Nasehat Emas Bagi Pegiat Ribawi

Silsilah Fatawa Kontemporer
——————————————————
NASIHAT EMAS BAGI PEGIAT RIBAWI.
——————————————————
Al-'Allamah DR. Robi' bin Hadi Al-Madkholi hafizhohulloh:

PERTANYAAN:

Dan jika engkau butuh sebuah rumah maka bersabarlah hingga Allah beri engkau rezeki, dan berlindunglah kepada Allah serta curahkan (usaha menempuh) sebab-sebab hingga Allah persiapkan bagimu sebuah rumah, dan jika tidak maka engkau mati dalam keadaan engkau selamat dari peperangan melawan Allah;

[Qs. Al-Baqoroh: 279)

Allah umumkan peperangan atas pelaku riba.

Apa artinya Aku tanpa keakuanku?

The Dunya

I went on a journey to vietnam, and i prepared for it in months, made sure i had my tickets, made sure i have my passport, made sure i had enough money with me, and then i went on the journey.

Today i've come to an internet cafe in my city, and what i did is i picked up my motorbike and i came. That was all that i need to prepare.

If i had prepare vice versa, just picked up something and jumped on the plane to vietnam, you would have thought, "this guy is crazy". If i had prepare for 2 weeks for my journey to internet cafe today, you would've said, "this guy got his priorities upside down, he is only going for a talk and his coming straight back".

Now let us ask ourselfs question: how long are we going to live in this dunya? and how long are we gonna live in the hereafter? we prepare for the dunya according to the amount of time that we going to live in this dunya, and we prepare for our journey in the hereafter according to the time that we are going to live in the hereafter.

Umar ibn khattab r.a once said: "i looked into the matter of the dunya, and i looked into the matter of hereafter, and i realise that if i engaged myself in the dunya, then that will be detrimental to my hereafter. and if i engaged to the hereafter i would have to give up some dunya. so i gave preference to that which is eternal, everlasting, over that which was temporal."

Like i would be a fool, to prepare for 2 weeks for this journey to cafe, we also foolish to make this dunya our purpose, and forget our eternal journey to Allah.

Upon occasion Umar r.a came into a gathering of prophet Muhammad SAW, and umar looked around the house of the messenger, and he only saw a few provision, and then the messenger sat up from his mat, and the mat left imprints on the back of prophet muhammad, and umar began to cry. and the prophet said, "o umar, what are you crying for?". and umar said, "o messenger of Allah, have you not seen what pomp and what glory the kaiser and the kisra live in, the persian and the roman empire live in? you are the greatest of creation". and when umar said this the prophet sat upright and said "o umar, have you ever not understood that my example for this worldly life is that of a person who takes shade under a tree and he moves on".

That's what believers are like. That we live in this dunya temporal, for a short period of time. but what happens, we make our dunya our purpose and forget the hereafter. have you ever been to graveyard and have you seen how long people live for? have you ever seen the tombstones? what do they say? 1945-1980, 1950-1990 etc. you will realise that these people have spent more time under the ground than above it. still, what happens? we get impress by the 'now', the dunya, by ourselves. Everything makes us think that we are something special, although we forget that Allah created us from dust, and until dust we will return. and how can dust become horty? how can you proud when you are a dust? how can become you proud when you are made out of a piece of sperm?

I seek refuge of Allah from the deceptions of this worldly life. To Him, we will make our eternal journey.
